The MMRG's Model of Cheadle Station & Yard

These images of the model of Cheadle station & goods yard were taken at the Derby Model Railway exhibition in April 2001. This will be one of the last public appearances of the layout which is closely based upon the prototype. Study of photographs of Cheadle, and of track diagrams will amply illustrate the accuracy of the model.

The layout has been built by members of the Macclesfield Model Railway Group. Unfortunately, because of the layout's age, and the wear-and-tear incurred as a result of numerous exhibition visits over the years, the layout will be retired after its final public appearance at the Warley Model Railway exhibition, at the NEC, in the autumn of this year.

Altogether there are a dozen images on this web-site, to give a flavour of the layout. Because of the image size each will take between 2 and 5 minutes to load depending on modem speed.

If you've not been able to see Cheadle yet, then do try and get along to the show at Warley.
